SPIRITUAL EDUCATION

Whether you are new to Spiritual Life Center or have been attending for years, the Adult Education program will meet you where you are….and take you to higher ground.  This is a program of spiritual enrichment which includes courses and other opportunities designed to enlighten, challenge, and inspire you.  Adult education classes cover essential core principles and practices which are offered at various times throughout the year.

Here is a sampling of classes that are currently offered:

Course In Miracles

Weekly Study Group meets Mondays, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at 24th & K in the Common Ground meeting room.  We read one small section of the text each week and have a round table discussion to develop this understanding in our own language, and from our own unique experience.

This Course elucidate the principles of mind action helping us to identify what is, and isn’t Love/True/God.  By looking calmly and clearly at the source of our thinking with the aid of the indwelling Spirit we learn to invite a real change at the only level that needs correction --mind/heart.  Behaviorism is not the focus in this healing art, as a change in behavior (an effect) will always following a change of mind (a cause).  This understanding calls on the Voice for God that Lives in you.

Come and learn how to hear Your Voice that IS calling you Home.  It doesn’t matter when you start, as every part of the Course is repeating a single message:  God has one Son, One Creation, and it is You.  Come and learn of your Self.  For additional information, contact Mike Johnston at 916-792-1927.

Keys To The Kingdom

This class is a pathway to living the abundant life.  By learning and applying the ancient teachings of the spiritual masters, we learn to step out of limited consciousness into a consciousness of abundance in all areas of our life, including financial, creativity, career, and relationships.

Spirit of Transformation

Spirit of Transformation is the coaching group that helps you reinvent yourself.  Whether you are working on a personal or professional transformation, this team will help you focus and stay on course.  Join us as we encourage each other in starting new careers, revitalizing talents and bringing dreams to life. Develop your greatness and enjoy the ride!   The group meets for on Friday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Spiritual Life Center, 24th & K.  Sessions start in January and July.

Unity Basics

This course is offered to provide a shared understanding of the Unity/New Thought principles for potential new members.  This course is a pre-requisite for attending the New Member Orientation which is offered during each calendar year.

Fee: None, course is required for membership and participation as Prayer Chaplain

UNITY MINISTER & LICENSED UNITY TEACHER (LUT) TRAINING CLASSES
Licensed Unity Teachers have a very important role in the Unity movement, and in Unity churches. They contribute to our understanding of Unity principles by teaching classes, facilitating study groups and providing spiritual leadership in the church.  A Licensed Unity Teacher has successfully completed at least three years of training in basic Unity principles, metaphysics, Bible, and leadership development through our Association of Unity Churches and Unity School of Christianity.

SLC offers LUT training classes on an as-needed basis for Licensed Unity Teacher candidates in the Sacramento area.  Everyone is welcome to attend LUT classes.  Additional information about the Licensed Unity Teacher program is available at:

In addition, these courses are required as part of the pre-ministerial training for the Unity Institute and the Field Licensing Ministerial program with the Association of Unity Churches International.  If you have an interest in becoming a Licensed Unity Teacher, a Unity Minister or simply want to know more about Unity, please consider attending any of these classes.  They are open to all!
