Sanctuary Weddings
"Your
Day To Shine"
Welcome
to weddings at Spiritual Life Center. We are here to help make
one of the most important days of your life as perfect and carefree
as possible. You need not be a member of our church to have your
wedding at SLC. SLC weddings can be held at the Spiritual Life
Center sanctuary, or Pioneer Congregational Church, or outside
venues.
The
SLC wedding coordinator will assist you in planning your wedding
and answering all your questions. She will rehearse the bridal
party and be available at the church on your wedding day to help
with last-minute details, pin on flowers, and give moral support.
Our
ministers have several ceremonies from which you may choose. You
may alter one of these ceremonies or write your own. Premarital
counseling is available if you wish, but is not mandatory.
Weddings at SLC
The
SLC sanctuary seats approximately 120 people. The sanctuary
is white brick with wall candles and beautiful stained glass
windows which sets an intimate tone. Adjustable lighting allows
you to set the mood for your perfect wedding. A calm and uplifting
feeling surrounds you as you walk down the aisle.
Weddings at Pioneer Congregational Church
The
Pioneer sanctuary seats approximately 350 people. Pioneer Church
was the original church in Sacramento, built in 1875. The sanctuary
has hardwood seating and the ceiling is two-stories high with
majestic stained glass window behind the podium. Adjustable
lighting allows you to set the mood for your perfect wedding.
When you walk down the aisle, you feel surrounded by the history
of this beautiful church.
Memorial Services
We
believe in celebrating the lives of loved ones, as they move on
from the physical body. Our ministers provide compassionate memorial
services for members and non-members. Call the church office for
an appointment in your time of need.
Christenings
Unity
believes that in Christening and Baptism, a personal commitment
is made to live a life guided by God. In the case of a Christening,
that commitment is made by the parents of the child. In Baptism,
the commitment is made by the person being baptized. The outer
act of Baptism and Christening places our commitment before our
loved ones and friends, asking for support in this commitment.
The true Baptism goes on within the soul of the person making
this commitment. Call the church office for an appointment to
discuss your christening plans.
House Blessings
We
believe in celebrating the lives of loved ones, as they move on
from the physical body. Our ministers provide compassionate memorial
services for members and non-members. Call the church office for
an appointment in your time of need.
A house blessing is a thoughtful and meaningful
gift to give to a new couple just starting out, for the proud
owners of a new home, or simply to remind yourself what a blessing
your home really is to you!
Bring the positive vibrations of love, harmony
and beauty into your life with a ceremony specifically designed
to remove past influences and to purify your home with uplifting
vibrations. The ritual is without attachment to any particular
religious form or dogma, while recognizing the light in all world
religions.
Dating back to the earliest days of Christianity,
House Blessings protected inhabitants from evil spirits and typically
happened during the Epiphany, the 12 holy days after Christmas.
In the Christian faith, house blessings are primarily a tradition
in the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Episcopal Church. Other
faiths have similar rituals that invoke spiritual protection,
like the mezuzah posted in doorways in Jewish homes, the blessing
by Buddhist monks to ensure peace and prosperity or the burning
of herbs to purify the home done in some Native American religions.
Usually performed at the beginning of a housewarming
party, the house blessing is an event in itself specifically designed
to establish a positive atmosphere of good health, prosperity,
harmony and peace. Call the church office for an appointment to
discuss your house blessing plans.
Receptions
Receptions can be scheduled at either SLC or
Pioneer for your post-ceremony celebration. More details to come…
