Prayer Chaplains
"Prayer
reweaves the fabric of the universe."
- Marianne Williamson
Chaplains
are here to pray with you, to hold everything in strict confidence,
and to know for you that your prayers are answered. Trained
Chaplains are available after Sunday and Wednesday night services
to pray individually with you. "This is a very powerful
experience," we are told by many who have prayed with us.
Chaplains
also call each SLC member monthly as a personal way to pray and
celebrate life experiences. Spirit moves through the miracles
we are all experiencing through the power of prayer.

What is a Prayer Chaplain?
- A Prayer Chaplain acknowledges and calls on the presence of
God
- A Prayer Chaplain lovingly listens
- A Prayer Chaplain prays from the heart
- A Prayer Chaplain holds in confidence what is shared
What a Prayer Chaplain is not...
Prayer
Chaplains are not ordained, are not trained to counsel, fix
or advise others and are not accredited by any national organization.
Prayer Chaplains are not trained to go out and "minister"
to the community-at-large but are trained as a lay resource
to help meet the pastoral care needs within their church community.
There
is an annual Chaplain training each January for new Chaplains
to enter the program. We ask for a one-year commitment. 2007
is the fifth year of the SLC Prayer Chaplain ministry.
Come
pray with us.
