VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

eBay
Fundraising
eBay,
the online market place, recently introduced a new easy way to
support charities while buying and selling items. This organization
is called Giving Works and SLC is an authorized non-profit organization
that can receive designated donations from eBay sellers. Buyers
can bid for items on eBay items knowing that proceeds from the
sale are helping a worthy cause and sellers can donate a percentage
of their sales to charity.
Buying
and selling on eBay is a new way to raise money for our church
community. Many of us have items that are valuable to others,
but they have been collecting dust, are no longer useful or used,
or that just need to be released in order to make room for new
additions to our collections.
Sellers:
When selling an item on eBay for Charity (Giving Works), simply
select Spiritual Life Center from the list of charities and choose
a percentage of proceeds to donate (10-100%).
Buyers:
Remember to look out for the eBay Charity's (Giving Works) distinctive
blue and yellow ribbon when searching for items to buy on eBay.
This will help you to recognize items that will provide charitable
donations. To view all items that will make a contribution to
Spiritual Life Center simply search for the ‘Spiritual Life
Center store’ from the eBay homepage.
The
eBay team meets every Thursday at the Little Church from 12:00
noon to 3:00 p.m., reviewing items donated to SLC, taking digital
pictures of items to sell on eBay, researching items and writing
accurate descriptions of items to be posted for sale, monitoring
auction items and shipping to buyers after the auction is complete.
In addition to donated items, SLC is selling tapes, CDs, artwork,
and other donated items via eBay auctions or through the SLC eBay
Store. Visit the SLC eBay store at:

Consider
joining the eBay team. We learn a lot every week and enjoy the
time we spend raising funds for the church.
