Dad Is Waiting: A Father’s Day Reflection on the Divine Within

What if Father’s Day is more than a time to honor our earthly dads? What if it’s also an invitation to recognize a deeper, eternal truth: that there is a Fathering Presence within us, waiting patiently for us to remember who we truly are?

The Bible begins with a powerful declaration: “In the beginning was the Word…” That Word - alive, divine, and creative - isn’t just an ancient phrase. It’s the Living Word that lives in us. Scripture tells us we were made in the image and likeness of God, which means every divine idea God has ever had is planted within us like a seed.

The Father, in this metaphysical sense, isn’t about gender. It’s about the Principle - the masculine energy of intention, structure, and initiation. It's the part of us that carries the seed of Divine perfection and is always seeking expression.

The Father Is Not Missing - We Just Forgot to Look Within

For many, the word “father” brings up loss, absence, or even pain. Some never knew their fathers. Others had dads who were distant, absent, or harmful. Yet Jesus offered another way: “Call no man on Earth your father, for you have one Father - and He is in Heaven.” In metaphysical terms, “Heaven” means the expanded realm of Divine Ideas. This Father is eternal, perfect, and already within you.

Even if your earthly father wasn’t present, the Divine Father never left. God planted something sacred in your soul before time began. And like any father proud of his child, God is waiting - waiting for you to look like Him. Not in appearance, but in essence.

God is waiting to see Himself reflected in your life.

From Invisible Idea to Visible Form

Spiritual creation isn’t about pulling something down from the sky - it’s about drawing it out from within. The Gospel of Thomas said it best: “If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you.” The Father isn’t withholding blessings; He’s waiting for a consciousness bold enough to express what’s already been given.

We do this through inspired prayer - not begging for something we lack, but praying with the very energy we desire. You don’t pray for love; you pray with love. You don’t ask for joy; you pray with joy. That vibration becomes your life experience. We proclaim: “I am the love I seek. I am the abundance I need. I am the wisdom I desire.” And in that knowing, God smiles and says, “That’s my child. Looks just like me.”

A Call to Become Practical Mystics

The world often reflects fear, lack, and the belief in separation. But when we stay inspired through prayer, we tap into the Father’s mind - where only love, order, and possibility exist. This is how we become “perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.” Not by striving, but by revealing what is already perfect within us.

As you honor Father’s Day this weekend, bless the earthly fathers who showed up. Forgive the ones who couldn’t. And above all, awaken to the truth: You are not fatherless. You were born from divine intention. There is a Presence that believes in you, even when you forget to believe in yourself.

God is not out there somewhere. God is waiting in the stillness. Waiting in the silence. Waiting in the center of your being, saying:

“You are my beloved. I planted my image in you. I’m just waiting… for you to see it too.”

Peace and Blessings,

James
