Rev. Dr. Rick Belous

MEET OUR SENIOR MINISTER:
REV. DR. RICK BELOUS
Hi! Reverend Rick here.
In the last few years, there has been a big change in the number of people who have been seeking spiritual connection in their lives.
After years of falling like a stone, there has been a significant uptick in the percentage of people who call themselves spiritual seekers. Interestingly, many of these people are among the Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z part of the population. But they also include many Baby Boomers.
These seekers tend not to be after some fundamentalist, old time religion. They seem to be seeking a progressive, spiritual community, that weaves ancient spiritual traditions with the latest advances in the neurosciences, quantum physics, and AI.
If this sounds like you— and I bet it does— then the SPIRITUAL LIFE CENTER (SLC) of Sacramento could very well be what you have been looking for. It certainly is what I was looking for! In my 20s, I went through an atheist/agnostic period. But then I had some profound mystical experiences.
I am a lover of both spirituality and science. SLC actively supports both of these “loves.” Not only that but SLC is actively supporting a positive social path— which I believe is right in line with what Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi, and Dr. King preached.
A little bit about myself: Before my call to ministry, I was chief economist, and vice president of research for the United Way movement in Washington D.C. I graduated from Columbia University, George Washington University, and Unity Institute and Seminary. I have a PhD in economics, and an MA in theology. I am an ordained Unity minister.
I think you will enjoy my sermons and blogs/columns. I am also here for pastoral counseling. Check us out online.

I am passionate about spiritual transformation. Don’t hesitate to get in contact with me. My email address is rbelous@slcworld.org.
I love, hiking, reading, classical music, and the Grateful Dead. SLC is truly a warm community that has so many things going that can help you on your spiritual journey.
Promise me when — or if— you stop by at SLC, you’ll come up and introduce yourself to me. Really looking forward to meeting you.
It is great to be alive!
Many blessings,
Rev. Rick
