Transforming Mindset from Just Getting Through to Experiencing Your Best Year Ever

Here’s something I’ve been thinking about lately. As the worldwide pandemic continues, I’ve taken note that, as a society, we may have allowed ourselves to fall into a survival-and-siege mentality. There are plenty of “facts” we can point to, to justify such a viewpoint. Yet, individually we can decide to release the “how to get through this crisis" mindset and replace it with the attitude of finding every hidden blessing and opportunity to thrive in the current reality. We can even make it our best year ever.

Now many people find such thinking as heretical in light of the current environment. However, this is the time to take the words of the master teacher, Jesus the Christ, to heart. "As you have believed, so be it done to you." Moreover, history has proven that some of the most incredible opportunities arise out of the greatest challenges. This requires that we "Come out from among them," as it says in 2 Corinthians 6:17. In other words, break away from the dominant thinking of the collective consciousness. To get there, we must do our part.

Here’s a homework assignment you can do to help change your mindset from just getting through this pandemic to one which sets the objective of making this year (and beyond) phenomenal. I will be doing this and hope you will as well. The homework assignment is to write down your perfect day. It's not just any ideal day. It will be for January 1, 2021, in which you celebrate the fact that 2020 turned out to be the best year of your life. No joke.

To accept our blessings, we know that we have to have a mindset of positive expectancy. In this assignment, you usually will write a movie script of what your ideal or perfect day looks like. The goal is to imprint on your subconscious mind a powerful vision of the future that you want to bring into reality. It might be a project you see completed, a weight goal that you reach, the manifestation of a profitable business idea, and so forth. However, in this exercise, you'll change it up. This time you write that on New Year’s Day 2021, you are immersed in gratitude because 2020 was better than you've ever experienced.

This can be your reality, your best year ever in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. It is not a farfetched notion. Others will do it; so can you. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain. Try it and let me know how it goes. I will do the same.

Peace and blessings,

James
