About the Event

Authentic Voices: Our Stories (AV)
Readers Theater Performance
1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Authentic Voices is a one-hour reader’s theater performance that illuminates how individual differences shape our lived experiences. Through the transformative power of authentic storytelling, AV invites audiences into a shared journey of reflection, healing, and connection.
By weaving together powerful lived experiences with humor and music, AV creates a deeply engaging and accessible experience. Audience members are guided toward a deeper understanding of our shared humanity—cultivating empathy, resilience, and a lived sense of oneness—while inspiring meaningful action to co-create a world that works for everyone.
Authentic Voices: Your Story
Workshop
2:45 – 3:45 p.m.
This workshop extends the impact of the performance into experiential learning and personal practice. Grounded in the Cultural Humility framework, the workshop:
Incorporates stories from the AV performance
Explores the topics of bias and prejudice, stereotypes, and power
Creates space for participants to express and process uncomfortable emotions
Encourages self-directed action toward positive relationship-building
The workshop supports participants in developing greater cultural awareness and practical skills for living spiritual principles in real-world relationships.
Registration is not required for this event, but RSVPs are helpful to give us an idea of attendance. Love Offerings will be gratefully accepted at the door. Thank you in advance for helping SLC to bring performances and workshops such as this to our community.
