Join our community book study as we read Kaira Jewel Lingo’s book, We Were Made for these Times: 10 Lessons for Moving Through Change, Loss, and Disruption.

We all go through times when it feels like the ground is being pulled out from under us. What we relied on as steady and solid may change or even appear to vanish. In this era of global disruption, at times life can feel overwhelming. Not only are loss and separation painful, but even positive changes can cause great stress.

Yet life is full of change: birth, death, marriage, divorce; a new relationship; losing or starting a job; beginning a new phase in life or ending one. Change is stressful, even when it is much desired or anticipated—the unknown can feel scary and threatening. In We Were Made for These Times, the extraordinary mindfulness teacher Kaira Jewel Lingo imparts accessible advice on navigating difficult times of transition, drawing on Buddhist teachings on impermanence to help you establish equanimity and resilience.

Through a thoughtfully prepared workbook, small group conversations in person or on Zoom, artwork, and our Sunday Experiences, participants can develop ease, presence, and self-compassion, supporting us to release fear and nurture deeper freedom and stability in daily life.

The workbook, chakra colors, affirmation cards, and Paula Mandella’s special Faith in Action song are all tools you can use to move along positively. Through enhanced prayer techniques you can open to the Divine and get to where you are meant to be in your life. Come with us to experience this life-affirming process.

Sign up by Sunday, Sept 27th to join a Faith in Action small group to discuss Kaira Jewel Lingo's book We Were Made for These Times. Books are available online such as at Bookshop.org and also at the HUB in the Courtyard at Spiritual Life Center after Sunday Services.

Sign up today as each group is limited to small amount of participants to allow everyone time to share in group discussions. FIA small groups begin the first week of October and run for 7 weeks. Each group typically runs between 1.5 to 2 hours depending on group size. Some groups or in-person and others by Zoom. Cross streets for physical locations of groups are provided below.

Soon after open enrollment for FIA Small Groups ends on Sunday, September 27th, you will be notified directly from your Host with details about meeting location or Zoom meeting access.

Below are the available FIA Study Groups available by the days of the week. There are 14 study groups in total. 3 will be meeting in person at Spiritual Life Center, 10 groups are in person at homes, and there is 1 group meeting on Zoom Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
