Our exploration of world religions moves east as we delve into major Japanese and Chinese forms of spirituality: SHINTOISM AND CONFUCIANISM. Both spiritual paths not only contain sacred truth, but they also are representative of the cultures of two very significant societies in the 21st-century.
Musical guest Sawako Ama was brought up in a temple in Japan, her father a monk. We will discover through her experience and knowledge of Shintoism how the Japanese view nature, sacred spaces, and the interconnectedness of all life, and how these beliefs have shaped Japanese culture.
In-person at Spiritual Life Center:
2201 Park Towne Circle, Sacramento, CA 95825
or
Online on YouTube: Watch the Livestream here.

How these colors were chosen:
Red signifies the sun, vitality, joy. Known for its striking presence, red is closely associated with life and the exorcism of malevolent spirits and disease. You will immediately recognize this vibrant hue on the Torii gates that mark the entrance to shrines, where passing through acts as a physical and spiritual cleansing.
Yellow represents the Earth element, center of the universe, and is considered the most prestigious of all colors, yellow, considered the most prestigious of all colors. In Confucianism, it symbolizes stability, nourishment, moral centrality, and imperial prestige.
Green is a color of healing, calmness, growth, and renewing powers.
