WOW Wednesday: CosmoMusicology: The Vibrational Bridge Between Humans, the Cosmos, and the Natural World

In this introduction to ‘CosmoMusicology’, we will explore how ever present, all pervasive energy creates vibrations and frequencies that reverberate throughout all life forms in the Multiverse. You will learn why folk music is so important to humanity. And with the help of a musical interface device called Plant Wave, you will get to listen to how a plant responds to your thoughts, or how a rock sings, or how planet and star songs can affect your thoughts and emotions. These are a few of the experiences we will touch on while delving into the concept Catherine calls “CosmoMusicology”.

Catherine Mandella has been an environmental scientist and an environmental educator for over 25 years and a musician since birth.  She comes from a lineage of musicians and travelers and has always been passionate about being in and understanding Nature and the Cosmos. Through her travels around the world she became conscious of the relationship and influences between music and communities, both cultural and natural.    She is a multi-instrumentalist, and after accepting professional engagements to present Instruments of the World programs, she couldn’t help but include the natural and cosmic elements to that subject. Her expanded Study of EcoMusicology – the musical bridge between humans and the natural world, has now evolved to CosmoMusicology which envelopes our vibrational connections beyond earth, where perceived division ceases to exist, where the heart, mind, science, spirituality, humanity and the cosmos realize it has always been one song.
