There is much interest these days in the Ethiopian Bible and the differences between it and the King James version. The primary distinctions lies in the canon and language. The Ethiopian Bible features 81 books, encompassing rare texts excluded from the Catholic canon (which has 73 books).
Abba Tetemke and his interpreteur Geb Abraha will enlighten us on The Book of Enoch, The Book of Jubilees, The Book of the Covenant, which describes what Jesus taught his disciples the 40 days between his resurrection and ascension. We will also learn about the Nephilim, and The Seven Heavens, which recounts the multiple dimensions the Christ moved through on his descension to the Earth.
Abba Gebrekidan Tetemke is an Ethiopian Orthodox monk priest who serves the local Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC) community in the greater Sacramento area, working closely with the local network of traditional Ethiopian parishes in the region, such as Mekane Sebhat Kidist Selasei on 53rd Ave and Fenote Loza Saint Teklehaymanot on Connie Dr. These locations preserve ancient Tewahedo Christian traditions in Northern California.
As a monk priest, he provides spiritual counseling, leads traditional liturgical services, and administers sacraments to the Amharic- and Ge'ez-speaking communities.
He established a registered non-profit religious and community organization under his name in Sacramento. This entity assists local Ethiopian immigrants and churchgoers with religious education, community integration, and charitable outreach.
